Tesla to sack 14,000 workers, Adobe shows off AI for Premiere Pro, Blackmagic's new products at NAB 2024

• Tesla's sacking 10% of it workforce, roughly 14,000 people. Musk said in a company wide email that "there is nothing I hate more, but it must be done. This will enable us to be lean, innovative and hungry for the next growth phase cycle". Meanwhile, Tesla is flogging a "Full Self Driving" subscription in the US for US$99/m instead of a US$12,000 up-front purchase.
• Adobe's shown off a generative AI video feature for Premiere. It's basically the controversial Photoshop Generative Fill feature, but for video. There's no release date for it, but there is a demo video of an "early exploration" of what adding generative AI to Premiere will look like. If it actually works like the demo, it's pretty wild stuff.
• Blackmagic's got a bunch of new video production related goodies at NAB 2024. There's like a dozen new things, including new 12K and 6K cameras, a "Micro Color Panel" for DaVinci Resolve that even works with the iPad Pro, DaVinci Resolve 19 with over "100 feature upgrades", loads of SMPTE ST-2110 converters, some 4K ATEM switchers and a shitload more stuff that'll be of interest to anyone working in video production.
