Microsoft recalls Recall

From the Windows blog: "Recall will now shift from a preview experience broadly available for Copilot+ PCs on June 18, 2024, to a preview available first in the Windows Insider Program (WIP) in the coming weeks". The rest of the blog post goes on about how Microsoft is committed to security and privacy, blah, blah, blah, the usual marketing wank. A very limited test is how Recall should have been rolled out in the first place. It's one thing to be a small startup experimenting with a new app that users have to find and deliberately install, versus shoving it in the face of potentially billions of users with varying levels of technical understanding, forcing them to make an uninformed decision on feature that has a high risk of abuse.
